The Times Higher Education (THE) Awards 2024 have unveiled their prestigious University of the Year shortlist, marking a significant milestone as this year celebrates the 20th anniversary of “the Oscars of higher education.”

University of the Year Nominees
The six nominated universities represent exceptional achievements across various domains:
- London Metropolitan University: Recognized for its innovative student support initiatives and commitment to fostering social mobility.
- Ulster University: Celebrated for its pioneering work in cross-community education and significant contributions to economic and social development in Northern Ireland.
- University of Leicester: Acknowledged for impactful research and dedication to tackling social inequality, aligning academic pursuits with community needs.
- University of Stirling: Highlighted for its research in environmental sustainability, health, and well-being, making strides in these critical areas.
- University of Sunderland: Honoured for advancements in health and life sciences, along with a strong focus on producing career-ready graduates.
- University of Surrey: Commended for its emphasis on research innovation, employability initiatives, and global student engagement.
Award Ceremony Details
